At Helping Hearts Caregivers, our extremely talented and loving providers work with members one-on-one to ensure that each individual reaches their full potential. Whether we are providing respite, habilitation, or attendant care, we keep members we support best interest at the heart of everything we do. PARENT PROVIDERS
The Arizona Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) now offers a new way to support families who need Habilitation and Attendant Care services for their child. If you are unable to find enough help from other providers, you can now be paid to provide those services yourself.
In 2020, DDD announced that parents can be paid as Direct Care Workers for their own children. The purpose of this option was to give parents (or guardians) another way to ensure that their child could continue to receive Habilitation or Attendant Care services without having outside providers come into the home. Since parents cannot work another job while providing these services for their child, DDD allows parents/guardians to be paid for providing these services. AHCCCS has announced that this option will become permanent.

As a Qualified Vendor Agency with DDD and family- focused, Helping Hearts Caregivers has taken several steps to streamline the process to help parents become Direct Care Workers for their children, including covering all up front costs to become a direct care worker. RESPITE
Under direct supervision, our respite care staff members are responsible for working one-on-one with children, adolescents, and adults with special needs in their home or within a community setting. Our skilled staff provides recreational and educational activities while attending to the consumer's emotional and physical needs. Activities are designed to encourage and enhance the member's growth and development, facilitate positive relationships, and provide relief to the primary caregiver.
HABILITATION
Habilitation Providers will assist individuals in acquiring, retaining, and improving the self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in both home and community based settings. This service includes the provision of training in independent living and behavioral management. Our habilitation staff at Helping Hearts Caregivers will have specific methodologies and goals, agreed upon by the individuals and the member's family, that will be the focus of their habilitation sessions. The Provider will aim to empower their member to reach these goals and help them gain a sense of success and pride in their increasing independence.
ATTENDANT CARE
The primary focus of our attendant care staff at Helping Hearts Caregivers is to assist individuals to effectively live on their own in their homes and within the community. We assist the member in attaining and maintaining safe and sanitary living conditions, personal hygiene and cleanliness, and productively participating in daily activities both in the home and in the community.
